The first joint event between Sichuan and Chongqing
The theme of this World Expo is "Jointly Building a New Land Sea Corridor in the West and Sharing New Opportunities for Western Development". Exhibitions and exhibitions will be held around international logistics channels such as the Western Land Sea Corridor, China Europe Express, Yangtze River Golden Waterway, and Aviation, with a focus on logistics cooperation in the Chengdu Chongqing Economic Circle.

More than 600 well-known enterprises from both domestic and foreign countries participated in the exhibition, with a total exhibition area of 23000 square meters and a duration of 3 days.
It is worth mentioning that this Chongqing Expo is the first logistics industry event jointly held by Sichuan and Chongqing, which will play a positive role in deepening cooperation between the two regions and promoting coordinated development of industries.
The opening ceremony of the Chongqing Expo was presided over by Ba Chuanjiang, Director of the Port Logistics Office of the Chongqing Municipal People's Government. Jan Van der Borcht, Chief Representative of Antwerp Port in China, Belgium, takes international ports as the entry point and fully elaborates on the important role played by multimodal transportation through the linkage of roads, railways, and barges in international logistics.
Muheyati Nurmuhamaiti, a member of the Standing Committee of the Urumqi Municipal Committee of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Wei Wanli, Senior Director of SF International, Ou Chenghua, General Manager of China 19th Metallurgical Group Corporation, and Jing Xuefei, Chairman of Beijing Yuantong Xinde, also actively provided suggestions and suggestions for the construction of the western land sea new channel, creating an inland international logistics hub and an inland open highland in Chongqing.
At the meeting, attending experts pointed out that modern logistics holds a prominent position in the global supply chain, and international logistics channels have become an important link connecting the world. As the connection point between the "the Belt and Road" and the Yangtze River Economic Belt, Chongqing is currently striving to build a regional economic development pattern of linkage at home and abroad, radiation of the north-south corridor, east-west two-way mutual aid, internal and external two-way circulation, and comprehensive opening up under the new development pattern, and the strength of the material industry continues to increase.
Data shows that in 2020, the total amount of social logistics in Chongqing was 3.1 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10%. The freight volume was 1.21 billion tons, a year-on-year increase of 7.7%. The total cost of social logistics and GDP decreased to 14.5%, which was lower than the national average for the first time. A total of 13779 international trains have been operated, connecting more than 400 cities and forming a three-dimensional open system with coordinated transportation in four directions: east, west, north, south, and four modes of rail, public transportation, water, and air transportation. The logistics hub system is more complete.
Chongqing has also become the only city in China with both port and land port national hubs, making port clearance more convenient. Customs reform and innovation continue to deepen, and the departure confirmation mode continues to be optimized. The overall clearance time has been compressed by more than 60% compared to 2017.
