According to the Global Times, at a press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on June 11th, a reporter asked that China has just released news of Premier Li Qiang's visit to New Zealand, Australia, and Malaysia. Can you please introduce the background of this visit, the arrangement of activities, and China's expectations?
Lin Jian stated that both China and Australia are important countries in the Asia Pacific region, with highly complementary economies and broad prospects for cooperation. Consolidating and maintaining the development momentum of China Australia relations is the common expectation of the two peoples.
Lin Jian introduced that during his visit to Australia, Premier Li Qiang will hold the ninth round of the annual meeting between Chinese and Australian prime ministers with Prime Minister Albanese, and have extensive contact with people from all walks of life in Australia to exchange views on China Australia relations and international and regional issues of common concern. The two prime ministers will also jointly attend the roundtable meeting of CEOs in the Chinese and Australian business and industry sectors. China is willing to take this visit as an opportunity to strengthen high-level exchanges, enhance understanding and mutual trust, deepen practical cooperation, and jointly build a more mature, stable, and fruitful comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Australia.
