International shipping is the most important mode of transportation in international trade, accounting for more than two-thirds of the total volume of international trade. The vast majority of China's import and export goods are transported through ocean transportation. The main characteristics of international sea transportation are low cost, long lead time, and suitability for large volume shipments.
There are two types of international sea freight:
1. Marine container transportation, also known as containerized transportation, is the most important mode of transportation for international trade goods. Container transportation has many advantages, such as facilitating the mechanization of port operations, improving loading and unloading efficiency, greatly shortening the time of ships in port, accelerating ship turnover, saving packaging costs, reducing cargo damage, and facilitating the connection of different transportation routes and vehicles, as well as conducting door-to-door transportation.
2. LCL (Less than Container Load) by sea refers to the process in which a carrier (or agent) accepts small bills of lading from the shipper for less than a full container load, and categorizes and organizes them based on the nature of the goods and their destination. Consolidate a certain quantity of goods going to the same destination and pack them into boxes. (Our company's main business is also the door-to-door mode of sea freight consolidation and backend delivery, which is a special line to Australia. The cooperating shipping companies are usually COSCO, ZIM MSK, etc.)
